Hands
Our hands, the makers of the material culture that speaks our name, are objects of beauty that also create beauty. Through this series of paintings, I celebrate the shared language of my people; countless hands across the world crafting our story.
It always confounds me when I am admiring the multilayered intricacies of Arab visual culture - combining thousands of years of civilization, cultural exchange, and layer upon layer of color, texture and meaning - how anyone can think that people with legacies of such depth of expression can be detrimental to Western society.
